Publication of information as required by the animal breeding legislation
The [Council] Directive 2008/73/EC and [Commission] Decision 2009/712/EC
require the EU member states to publish information on animal breeding
organisations and equine competitions on the internet as of 1st January
2010 and to update the information regularly. In order to comply with
the requirements of the EU legislation, the following pages contain
information on:
- breeders’ organisations officially approved in Germany
- breeders’ organisations whose approval has been refused
- officially approved breeders’ organisations which are based in an other member state and which have given official notification to the competent authorities of their expansion of operation into Germany
- equine competitions
Furthermore, the following pages also contain information on artificial
insemination centres and embryo collection and production teams which
hold permission, according to § 17 of Germany’s Animal Breeding Act, to
trade semen, embryos or ova only within Germany.
However, links to lists of German artificial insemination
centres and embryo collection and production teams with permission,
according to the EU legislation and therefore with an authorisation
for intra-community trade, can also be found at the end of the respective
lists of “national artificial insemination centres and embryo collection
and production teams with permission according to the Animal Breeding Act”.
